Role Purpose: To provide learners with a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience To support the wider aims of British Council and its cultural relations mission Main Accountabilities: Teaching Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups taking into account individual learning needs and modes of learning Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage students’ performance throughout their learning, and actively promote learner autonomy and progress Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning, and maintain British Council’s position at the forefront of best ELT practices. Teaching Centre Activities Support teaching centre’s activities and British Council plans Attend staff meetings and otherwise contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials and related services, in order to meet students’ needs by actively working as a member of the teaching team Complete teaching related administrative tasks to specified standards and uphold professional responsibilities and values. Compliance Ensure guidelines and policies are applied and upheld in relation to Safeguarding, Data Protection, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Special Educational Needs and Disability, Health and Safety Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Ensure Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is taken into account when planning and delivering lessons and engaging with customers and colleagues Qualifications Essential Undergraduate and or University degree Cambridge CELTA and or Trinity CertTESOL Desirable Recognised diploma in EFL i.e. DELTA / Trinity Diploma TYLEC PGCE/BEd in Primary or relevant subject Work Experience Essential 2 years post-certificate i.e. CELTA / Trinity cert TESOL experience Experience in teaching relevant age groups: Primary aged 6 to 10 (400+ hours) Lower Secondary aged 11 to 14 (400+ hours) Upper Secondary aged 15 to 17 (400+ hours) Adults General English 18+ (800+ hours) Desirable Experience with Early Years (200+ hours) University/Vocational students aged 18 to 25 (400+hours) Line managing experience Experience delivering training sessions Salary & Benefits Salary - $ 1,335.78 - $ 1,602.93 monthly gross Benefits required by the local law like monthly food bonus, Christmas bonus, and leave bonus Annual Leave: Teachers are entitled to paid leave per year as per standard British Council policy Additional Information Contract type: Fixed-term contract for 12 months Work Schedule- Classes are offered from Monday to Saturday The teacher will have a Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday schedule depending on demand Classes are offered face-to-face on-site and off-site.
