Total Number of Openings1Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Geologist in Maracaibo, Zulia. This role will conduct technical studies for the development of the Boscan field, with a focus on reservoir characterization, updating static models, and actively participating in the new well maturation process. This position offers an opportunity to influence the development of one of Chevron’s largest heavy oil fields, which still holds significant remaining resources. The role requires technical leadership and mentoring of geologists and reservoir engineers.Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Support the development of 30+ new wells annually through Petro Boscan well maturation processes and collaborations with engineering and drilling groups.Able to integrate seismic, log, core, and engineering data to characterize and highlight stratigraphic/sedimentologic elements of fluvial-deltaic reservoirs.Develop and execute reservoir studies, such as facies variations, correlations area prospectively and long-term field development strategies.Able to conduct volumetric and probabilistic reserves estimations to meet partner and government requirements. Support the Business planning, reserves estimation, and drilling project lookbacks.Mentor junior members of the team through knowledge and best practices transfer and individual development plans.Experience with static modeling and reservoir management techniques are strongly desired.Represent the team in internal management and partner meetings.Required Qualifications: Geologist with 10+ years of experience.Proficient and experienced in all aspects of development geology: geologic workflows, depositional processes, well concepts, well planning and operations geology, integration of well log with seismic interpretation and reservoir characterization.Fluency in subsurface mapping and 3-D model building with Petrel. Strong understanding of subsurface risks and uncertainty management.Demonstrates ability to clearly convey concepts and objectives orally, in presentations, and in technical reports both in Spanish and English.Participation in primary and secondary oil recovery projects. Works effectively on multi-disciplinary teams. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated mentoring capability is essential. Works collaboratively with the asset teams, Optimization, Operations, RM, Drilling and Facilities.Exhibits Chevron Way behaviors and demonstrates strong partnering skills in a challenging environment.
